Shanghai Disney Resort has confirmed that its new Enchanted Star Hotel will officially open on 16 December 2026, adding a third Disney-themed hotel to the growing destination.

Reservations for selected room types will open from 6 November, giving guests the first opportunity to book stays at the new 400-room property ahead of its December debut.

Located alongside Wishing Star Lake and adjacent to Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, the nine-storey hotel will combine Disney storytelling with architectural influences drawn from early 20th-century Shanghai.

The hotel will officially welcome its first guests on 16 December, less than seven weeks after Shanghai Disney Resort announced the opening date.

Bookings for several categories will begin at midnight local time on 6 November through Shanghai Disney Resort's reservation centre, official booking channels and authorised travel partners.

The initial selection will include Enchanted Star Deluxe Rooms, park-view Deluxe Rooms, Enchanted Star Dream Rooms and Enchanted Star Club Rooms, with additional room categories expected to become available closer to opening.

Once open, the new hotel will join Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel as the resort's third themed accommodation option.

Inspired by Shanghai and Disney's Wishing Star

The hotel's name and wider design are inspired by the idea of the Wishing Star, a familiar symbol within Disney storytelling associated with dreams and possibilities.

That theme continues throughout the building, from the guest rooms to the public spaces, with star-inspired details incorporated into the interiors.

Architecturally, Disney says the property draws heavily on the character of Shanghai during the early 20th century, using an Art Nouveau style while following the resort's wider approach of being authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese.

The newly released images provide the clearest look yet at that approach, showing sweeping curved architecture, star motifs and subtle Disney references rather than the heavily character-led design found at some Disney resort hotels.

The main lobby features a dramatic star-inspired installation suspended from the ceiling, alongside a prominent Mickey Mouse sculpture and large windows overlooking the surrounding resort.

400 new rooms overlooking the resort

Enchanted Star Hotel will contain 400 rooms across nine floors.

Guest rooms continue the wishing star theme with specially created artwork, understated Disney details and warm colour palettes, while selected rooms will provide views towards Shanghai Disneyland.

The property's position on the shores of Wishing Star Lake will also provide views across Wishing Star Park and the wider resort.

Disney is positioning the hotel as a premium option designed to encourage longer stays, adding further accommodation capacity as Shanghai Disney Resort continues to expand.

The hotel will introduce several new leisure facilities, including indoor swimming areas and themed play spaces inspired by Disney characters and stories.

It will also feature an outdoor swimming pool operating during selected seasons and weather conditions.

That will make it the first outdoor swimming pool within Shanghai Disney Resort's hotel portfolio, adding another option for guests spending more than one day at the destination.

A dedicated connector between Enchanted Star Hotel and the neighbouring Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will also allow guests at either property to use shared facilities.

These will include swimming pools, fitness facilities, themed indoor and outdoor play areas, shopping and dining.

New dining and entertainment

Multiple restaurants and other food and beverage locations will form part of the hotel.

Among them will be Enchanted Seasons Restaurant, which will take inspiration from the changing seasons while combining Chinese and international dishes with Disney storytelling.

The hotel will also feature shopping, entertainment and opportunities to encounter Disney characters, further positioning the property as part of the wider resort experience rather than simply somewhere to stay overnight.

Shanghai Disney Resort continues to expand

The opening comes during another significant period of expansion for Shanghai Disney Resort.

Alongside Enchanted Star Hotel, work is continuing on a new Spider-Man-themed land at Shanghai Disneyland, which will become the park's ninth themed land and the first Disney themed land anywhere dedicated entirely to Spider-Man.

Shanghai Disney has also already announced plans for a fourth themed hotel alongside an expansion of Disneytown, meaning Enchanted Star Hotel will not remain the resort's newest accommodation development for long.

The resort is also planning to expand the capacity of Soaring Over the Horizon as it continues investing in both the theme park and the wider destination.

Reservations open on 6 November

Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel officially opens on 16 December 2026, with reservations for selected room types beginning on 6 November.

With 400 additional rooms, new leisure facilities, dining and the resort's first outdoor hotel pool, the opening represents another significant step in Shanghai Disney's development as a destination designed for longer stays.

More room categories and further details about the hotel's opening are expected to be revealed as December approaches.
