Energylandia has revealed Rokan, a major new Bolliger & Mabillard wing coaster that is set to become the tallest and longest ride of its type in Europe.

The new roller coaster will form the centrepiece of Volana, an entirely new themed area currently being developed at the Polish theme park.

Rokan will stand 62 metres tall, feature 1,215 metres of track and reach a top speed of 115 km/h, making it another substantial addition to Energylandia's already extensive coaster line-up.

Energylandia says Rokan will be both the tallest and longest wing coaster in Europe when it opens.

The ride will reach a height of 62 metres and stretch across 1,215 metres of track, while riders will reach speeds of up to 115 km/h.

The complete experience is expected to last around 141 seconds.

Rokan will also become the first wing coaster in Poland.

Unlike a conventional roller coaster where riders sit directly above the track, wing coaster trains position guests on either side of it, creating the sensation of riding with nothing immediately above or beneath them.

Bolliger & Mabillard will manufacture the coaster

Rokan is being supplied by Swiss roller coaster manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard, better known as B&M.

The manufacturer is responsible for several well-known wing coasters around the world, including The Swarm at Thorpe Park and GateKeeper at Cedar Point.

Energylandia says Rokan will operate with three trains, each consisting of eight rows and accommodating 32 riders.

A minimum height requirement of 140cm has also been confirmed.

A new themed area called Volana

Rokan will not open as a standalone attraction.

The coaster will anchor Volana, a completely new themed area inspired by the legend of a valley of monoliths where a wandering tribe is said to have found a new home.

Within the story, Rokan is the winged guardian that watches over the valley.

Energylandia's reveal describes the guardian awakening after centuries trapped in stone, with Rokan returning in the form of the new steel coaster.

The park has confirmed that the entire Volana area will open alongside Rokan rather than being introduced in phases.

Another major coaster for Energylandia

The announcement continues Energylandia's rapid expansion into one of Europe's most significant theme park destinations.

The park is already home to major roller coasters including Hyperion, Zadra and Abyssus, alongside a large collection of family and thrill attractions.

Rokan represents another different coaster type for the park and will significantly increase the scale of its line-up once again.

Energylandia also operates an extensive outdoor water park as part of the same resort, with areas including Tropical Fun and a large collection of slides and pools.

When will Rokan open?

Energylandia has not yet announced an exact opening date for Rokan or Volana.

The park's official reveal currently states that the opening date will be announced soon, confirming only that the coaster and its surrounding themed area will open together.

Some industry coverage is currently pointing towards a 2027 opening, but until Energylandia confirms the date itself, the exact debut should be treated as unconfirmed.

A major new European coaster project

At 62 metres tall, 1,215 metres long and with a top speed of 115 km/h, Rokan is shaping up to be one of the most significant new roller coaster projects currently announced for Europe.

The combination of a record-breaking B&M wing coaster and an entirely new themed area also makes Volana considerably more substantial than a single ride addition.

Energylandia says more information, including the opening date, will be revealed in the future.
