Disneyland Resort is getting ready to lean fully into spooky season, with Halloween Time returning from August 21 to October 31, 2026. The resort’s autumn line-up brings back plenty of the fan favourites guests expect - Haunted Mansion Holiday, Radiator Screams, seasonal treats, character costumes and the after-hours Oogie Boogie Bash - but there are also a few fresh touches for 2026 that should make this year’s celebration feel a little different.
Across Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, the resort hotels and Downtown Disney, the season will mix classic Halloween atmosphere with Día de los Muertos celebrations, themed food, limited-time merchandise and special entertainment. For theme park fans, it is another reminder that Disneyland’s seasonal calendar is not just decoration - it is a major part of the resort experience.
Halloween Time Returns to Disneyland Park
Disneyland Park will once again be dressed for the season, with orange and black décor, glowing pumpkins and new Halloween outfits for Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends. This year, Mickey and Minnie will appear in harlequin-inspired costumes with frilled collars, giving their seasonal look a fresh but classic Halloween feel.
One of the biggest returning highlights is Haunted Mansion Holiday, the much-loved overlay inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack Skellington will once again bring Halloween Town into the mansion, with Sally, Zero and Oogie Boogie also making appearances. As usual, the ballroom will feature a newly designed gingerbread house, which has become one of the overlay’s most anticipated details each year.
Elsewhere in the park, the Halloween Tree in Frontierland will return as one of Disneyland’s most atmospheric seasonal photo spots, while the Main Street Pumpkin Festival will bring Disney-themed pumpkin carvings back to Main Street, U.S.A. For 2026, a new pumpkin in the ring around the Partners Statue will pay tribute to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, with carvings inspired by Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon.

At night, Halloween Screams will return with projections across Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street, U.S.A., “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America. The show features Disney villains, spooky music and, on select nights, fireworks.

Cars Land will become Radiator Screams once again, with the land receiving a playful Halloween makeover. Expect “car-achnids,” a seasonal pumpkin patch, and residents of Radiator Springs dressed in their best “car-stumes.” Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree will become Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, while Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters will transform into Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.
As evening arrives, Cars Land will also feature its “Sha-BOO” moment, where the land’s neon lights flicker on with a ghostly seasonal twist.
Over in Avengers Campus, Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark will return to the Collector’s Fortress. The after-dark version of the attraction sees guests join Rocket on a mission to rescue Groot from creatures that have been unleashed inside the building.
Family Halloween Entertainment
For younger guests, Mickey’s Trick and Treat will return to the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land from August 18. The family-friendly show includes music, dancing, bubbles and appearances from Mickey and friends, making it a softer Halloween option for children who may not be ready for the scarier side of the season.
Seasonal Food, Drink and Merchandise
Disneyland’s Halloween season would not be complete without themed snacks, and 2026 will bring back a selection of seasonal food and drink across the resort. Disney has already confirmed the return of items including Oogie Boogie Lemonade and Heatwave Pizza, with a fuller food guide expected closer to the start of the event.
There will also be new Halloween merchandise, including autumnal ear headbands, festive clothing and items featuring Mickey pumpkin designs. For collectors, this is usually one of the strongest merchandise seasons of the year, with the mix of cute Halloween designs and park-specific details making items especially popular.
Halloween at the Disneyland Resort Hotels
The Halloween celebrations will extend beyond the parks, with seasonal touches planned for the Disneyland Resort Hotels. Pixar Place Hotel will feature décor inspired by Monsters, Inc., while the Disneyland Hotel will receive Haunted Mansion-themed details.
Guests will also find themed confection displays, seasonal dining experiences and character meals, including Mickey’s Autumn Adventures and Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner. Adults looking for something more relaxed can visit the Broken Spell Lounge for seasonal cocktails.
Tenaya Stone Spa will also offer Halloween-inspired hair, makeup and nail services, alongside a Wicked to the Core foot treatment.
Plaza de la Familia Celebrates Día de los Muertos
From August 21 to November 2, Disney California Adventure will also host Plaza de la Familia, a Día de los Muertos celebration inspired by Pixar’s Coco.
The area will feature live entertainment, including The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco!, along with mariachi performances, marigold decorations, calaca figures and a memory wall where guests can honour loved ones.
Seasonal food will also be part of the celebration, including Mexican-inspired dishes such as Chilaquiles Carnitas Torta. Exclusive Coco merchandise will round out the offering.
Oogie Boogie Bash Returns for 33 Nights
The separately ticketed Oogie Boogie Bash will return to Disney California Adventure on select nights from August 18 to October 31, 2026.
The after-hours Halloween party includes trick-or-treat trails, rare character encounters, attraction access, entertainment and the chance for guests to wear costumes inside the park. For many Disneyland fans, it has become one of the resort’s biggest annual events.
New for 2026 is Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake - A Haunted Mansion Street Party, which will bring a ghostly street celebration to the event. Guests will also be able to book the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party, which includes themed treats inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas and reserved viewing for select entertainment.
Tickets for Oogie Boogie Bash go on sale from June 18, 2026, with earlier access available for Magic Key holders and D23 members.
