Europa-Park has revealed three new family attractions for the 2027 season, bringing additions to its Portuguese, Icelandic and Italian themed areas.

The new line-up includes a large swing ride positioned over the Portuguese lake, an interactive tower attraction in Iceland and a complete reimagining of one of the park's long-running family rides.

The additions will arrive during another year of significant change at the German resort, with Euro-Mir also preparing to operate for the final time before making way for a new space-themed area and family roller coaster.

Wild Swing XL is coming to Portugal

The biggest of the three newly announced attractions will be Wild Swing XL, which will join Europa-Park's Portuguese themed area.

The giant swing will stand more than 14 metres tall and will be positioned in the middle of the Portuguese lake.

Europa-Park says the attraction is designed to combine family-friendly thrills with the atmosphere of Portugal's coastline and the country's spirit of invention.

While the park has not yet released detailed technical specifications or a confirmed ride manufacturer, the attraction should add a more active ride experience to an area currently best known for Atlantica SuperSplash.

New interactive tower for Iceland

The Icelandic themed area will also receive a new interactive tower attraction in 2027.

The ride will be positioned between WODAN - Timburcoaster and blue fire Megacoaster.

Guests will be able to control the tower themselves during the experience, with Europa-Park describing it as an attraction suitable for riders of different ages.

Its elevated position should also provide new views across the Icelandic harbour area and the surrounding roller coasters.

Further details about the ride system and capacity have not yet been announced.

Piccolo Mondo becomes Enzo's Piccolo Mondo

Europa-Park is also giving one of its long-running family attractions a substantial refresh.

The traditional gondola ride in the Italian themed area will return in 2027 as Enzo's Piccolo Mondo.

Piccolo Mondo first opened in 1982 and takes guests on a family-friendly gondola journey through scenes inspired by Italian cities including Pisa, Venice and Florence.

The refreshed version will place Enzo at the centre of the experience and continue the attraction's focus on Italian culture, music and storytelling.

The change continues Europa-Park's recent approach of modernising older family attractions while retaining their original place within the park's themed areas.

2027 will also mark the end of Euro-Mir

The three family attractions are not the only major change coming to Europa-Park.

Euro-Mir will operate for the final time during the 2026/2027 winter season, bringing an end to almost 30 years of operation.

The spinning roller coaster opened in 1997 and has become one of the park's most recognisable attractions thanks to its mirrored towers, distinctive soundtrack and ride vehicles capable of travelling both forwards and backwards.

Europa-Park will hold a dedicated farewell event for the coaster on 9 January 2027 before dismantling begins.

A new family roller coaster will replace Euro-Mir

The Euro-Mir site will eventually become a completely new space-themed area.

Europa-Park has confirmed that the redevelopment will include a new family roller coaster from MACK Rides alongside additional experiences.

The new area is currently expected to open by 2028.

The space theme will remain, but Europa-Park says the redevelopment will focus on making the subject of space travel more accessible and engaging for children and families.

The project is being developed in cooperation with the European Space Agency, following the partnership between Europa-Park and ESA.

Europa-Park is opening earlier in 2027 too

Visitors will also be able to return to Europa-Park earlier than usual next year.

The park will introduce two Pre-Opening Weeks from 7 to 19 March 2027, giving guests early access before the main season begins.

Selected attractions and shows will operate during the period, although Europa-Park warns that the complete ride line-up will not yet be available while preparations continue for the summer season.

The full 2027 summer season officially begins on 20 March.

A year of smaller additions before something much bigger

The 2027 additions are relatively modest compared with projects such as Voltron Nevera, but they continue Europa-Park's long-standing approach of making improvements across several themed areas rather than relying solely on major headline attractions.

Wild Swing XL should bring a new focal point to Portugal, the interactive tower adds another family experience to Iceland and Enzo's Piccolo Mondo gives one of the park's oldest family attractions a new lease of life.

However, the biggest change is likely to be happening behind construction walls.

Once Euro-Mir closes, attention will turn towards the new space-themed area and MACK Rides family coaster planned for 2028.

With those projects now confirmed, Europa-Park already has a busy few years of development ahead.
