Universal Epic Universe is adding a new nightly finale with the debut of Universal Celestial Goodnight.

The new nighttime spectacular begins at Universal Orlando Resort’s newest theme park from 7 July 2026, bringing fountains, lighting, music and fireworks to Celestial Park.

Designed as an end-of-day send-off for guests, Universal Celestial Goodnight will celebrate the different worlds of Epic Universe while using the park’s central hub as its stage.

Celestial Park already acts as the gateway to Epic Universe, linking guests to Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk and the wider cosmic landscape at the heart of the park.

What Is Universal Celestial Goodnight?

Universal Celestial Goodnight is a new nighttime show for Universal Epic Universe.

The show will run nightly in Celestial Park and combines multiple effects, including dancing fountains, lighting, music and fireworks. Rather than being tied to one land or franchise, it appears to be designed as a celebration of Epic Universe as a whole.

That makes sense for the park’s layout. Celestial Park is not just an entrance area. Universal describes it as the cosmic heart of Epic Universe, with gardens, walkways, waterways, fountains and attractions sitting between the portals that lead into the park’s themed worlds.

By using Celestial Park as the home for a nighttime finale, Universal is giving Epic Universe a more defined closing moment. Instead of guests simply drifting towards the exit at the end of the day, the park now has a show that can bring people back into its central space for one final spectacle.

A New Finale for Epic Universe

Nighttime spectaculars have become a major part of the modern theme park day.

At Disney and Universal parks, evening shows often act as the emotional final chapter of a visit, combining music, lighting, projection, fountains, fireworks or drones to create a shared moment before park close.

For Epic Universe, Universal Celestial Goodnight could play an especially important role because of how the park is structured. The park is built around distinct portals and immersive worlds, with Celestial Park connecting everything together.

A central nighttime show gives Universal a way to reunite those worlds at the end of the evening, reminding guests that they have spent the day moving through one wider universe rather than a collection of separate lands.

It also adds another reason for guests to stay later into the evening, which could help spread crowds across the day and give the park a stronger nighttime atmosphere.

Why This Matters

Universal Epic Universe has already been one of the biggest theme park stories in years, but a new park continues to evolve after opening.

Adding a nightly spectacular helps round out the guest experience. Rides and lands may be the headline draw, but entertainment, atmosphere and end-of-day moments can make a park feel complete.

Universal Celestial Goodnight also gives guests another planning point. Visitors may now want to structure their evening around returning to Celestial Park, especially if the show becomes a must-see part of an Epic Universe day.

For UK fans planning an Orlando trip, it is another detail to keep in mind. Epic Universe is no longer just about which rides to prioritise first. Guests will also need to think about how they want to finish the day.

Our Thoughts

This feels like a smart addition for Epic Universe.

Celestial Park was always designed to be more than a walkway between lands, and Universal Celestial Goodnight gives that central area an important role at the end of the day.

The combination of fountains, lighting, music and fireworks should suit the park’s cosmic theme, while the wider celebration of Epic Universe’s worlds gives the show a clear purpose.

It may not be a new ride or land, but nighttime entertainment can have a huge impact on how a park feels. A strong finale can turn a good day into a memorable one, especially for first-time visitors.

With Universal Celestial Goodnight now debuting, Epic Universe has gained another piece of its evening identity - and another reason for guests to stay until park close.
